What You Get
What You Get
Experience the great outdoors with a family pass (valid for four people—a pair of children and adults) to the Get Outdoors Festival on August 9 or 10.
Description
Too many kids tend to spend their days inside playing video games or obsessing over the latest Justin Bieber tweet instead of getting a healthy dose of Vitamin D. Ditch technology and get up close and personal with nature with today’s WagJag: $15 for a family pass to the Get Outdoors Festival August 9 or 10 at Wye Marsh (a $30 value).
The Get Outdoors Festival encourages both youths and adults to literally get outside and explore what nature has to offer. The festival creates fun and interactive opportunities that inspire people to get off the couch and venture outdoors. Festival-goers can explore more than 25km of one of Ontario’s largest wetlands by foot, boat or bike. Activities include guided canoe or walking tours, hummingbird banding and monarch tagging demonstrations, interactive workshops on birding or backcountry camping and a live animal show. If you’re feeling adventurous, explore the scenic forested trails on your own and observe the wildlife that call the wetlands home.
Wye Marsh boasts 3,000 acres of wetlands, fen and forest near Georgian Bay. This Midland nature centre is a popular destination for visitors interested in displays of wild animals or taking a bike or hiking trip along the trails. Wye Marsh's nature-loving staff invite you to canoe or kayak along the calm waters and are happy to set you up with their classroom or event facilities. Get directions and head over.
