Description
Here's a little piece of Canadiana for ya: five-pin bowling was devised in 1909 by a Torontonian! Thomas F. Ryan came up with it after clients of his complained that ten-pin was too strenuous. He ended up cutting five of the ten pins down to a quarter of the size and used small, hard, rubber balls to hit the little pins. To this day, it remains a strictly Canadian tradition!
Show your patriotism with today's WagJag: $32 for 2 hours of bowling and a pound of chicken wings at Georgian Lanes (a $66 value). Shoe rentals are extra. Grab a lane with some friends or bring over co-workers for some fun teambuilding.
Located in Parry Sound, Georgian Lanes exclusively offers five-pin bowling that's open to the public Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights and afternoons on Saturday to Monday. With the snow around the corner, the alley offers an indoor sport that's affordable and enjoyable for all skill levels. For avid bowlers, Georgian Lanes invites you to join a league. Kids between six and eighteen are asked to participate in the Youth Bowling League, where children and young adults learn with certified coaches and instructors. Birthday party packages are also available with or without snacks.
Have a night out with some friends! A Glow in the Dark Rock 'N Bowl is offered Saturdays at 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Brush up on your five-pin bowling terminology (where "punch" means only hitting one pin when two or more pins are remaining, and "turkey" means three consecutive strikes), and get your game on with this amazing offer!
