Back when golf was still in its development stage, upside-down storks were used as golf clubs, and tangerines for golf balls. There were a few problems with this early technology though; not only did the storks usually peck the tangerines to a pulp, they would fly away as soon as players turned their heads. Celebrate modern-day golf using non-living equipment with a WagJag at Couchiching Golf & Country Club, where for $40 you get 18 holes for two including a power cart (a $91 value).

Highlights of the Course

Originally designed by Stanley Thompson in 1915, this semi-private course has a long history surrounding its growth from a vacant spot of grass to a par 68, 5,450-yard course complete with clubhouse and banquet hall. Additional tee boxes allow this nine-hole course to be played as an 18.

Bogey's restaurant placates palates with a plethora of snacks and lunch fare. Try the Bogey's steak sandwich, a 7 oz. New York strip grilled to your liking and topped with onion straws, sauteed mushrooms and Bogey sauce on top of toasted garlic bread. Don't forget to ask about the daily lunch special when you visit.

This course is conveniently located 10 minutes from anywhere in Orillia, between Laclie Street and Peter Street North, and from Fittons Road East to North Street. There's a bus stop for the North route of Orillia Transit right outside the front door.
