Option 1: About Whisky Run Golf Club
Highlights of the Course
This award-winning course divides its well-kept greens into three nines, The Fox, The Serpent and The Owl. Levels of difficulty differ per course, as do the sights you'll take in at each one. The Owl, Whisky's original nine built in 1989, is made up of heavily tree-lined terrain and challenging par 4s. The Serpent is a whole other animal, named for its prominent pond that snakes its way around five holes, while The Fox may be Whisky's most popular course due to its scenic views and unyielding pars.
Tips for Success on the Greens
Take heed when you get to The Tanker, hole 6 on The Serpent course. Once you take your first shot from a tee built atop a cement tank, you'll meet with several hazards on this par 5. Whisky run recommends hitting your tee shot just short of the creek and placing your second shot at the 100-yard marker to give you a short iron into the deep green. Take a look at the website for detailed tips on each hole, all of which have telling names like "Fangs" and "Gotta Have Balls!"
Club Comforts
When you finish all three courses, kick back and celebrate (or lick your wounds) in the rustic Bootlegger Bistro, featuring three outdoor patios and a casual atmosphere. When you're energized again, practice your game at the full driving range, chipping/putting green and practice bunker.
To Please the Golfer's Palate
The Bootlegger Bistro's alluring menu features popular wraps or burgers, all at an uber-affordable price.
