What You Get
âIs that tempura in your belly, or are you just happy sashimi?â Todayâs WagJag will roll you up in maki heaven: $20 gets you $40 worth of Japanese fare at Wabora, a brand-new restaurant now open at the Thompson Hotel.
Based on the same concept as the wildly-popular Bracebridge location, Wabora specializes in inspired Japanese fusion, with options ranging from beef tenderloin to exotic sushi rolls. Owner and culinary master Minsoo Kim has developed over 60 variations of maki that range from traditional to totally unique. Sample creative choices like White Christmas (salmon, tuna, and crab meat topped with red wasabi and black lumpfish) or Serpentine Roll (spicy salmon covered in four types of caviar).
Wabora is one of the only places in Toronto where youâll find authentic Robata grilling, an ancient Japanese technique using white charcoal from Asia, cooking your food more thoroughly and evenly. Taste the difference by ordering a savoury Fire Chicken, duck breast, or whole calamari.
The luxuriant décor at Wabora exudes contemporary style, with a black-and-white theme and modern original artwork adorning the walls. This WagJag is your ticket to experiencing a truly upscale dining experience; you can purchase up to two for yourself, and get as many extras as you want for friends and family. This voucher is valid Sunday to Wednesday only.
