Allow your little cowboy or cowgirl (aged 5 to 10) to hit up the hay for some fun while learning and playing at Downeys Farmer Camp. Each day the Farmers-in-Training (F.I.T.) will explore farm life, and learn about crops and animal care in an active, fun and safe way. F.I.T. get to engage in activities so exciting the kids will not even recognize the educational value of the whole experience until much later in life. Daily activities include wagon rides, fruit and vegetable picking, crafts, games, and more.
On Friday, the camp will include a make-your-own-pizza lunch to cap off the week. Ingredients will consist of fresh veggies the kids pick earlier in camp. For the first four days of the week, F.I.T. should bring a litterless lunch and snack or sign up for the lunch and snack program at $6 per day. Parents should also be sure to send their children with adequate water, as there are no water fountains at Downey's Farm.
Downeys Farmer Camp is available for two weeks during the summer - August 15th-19th and August 22nd-26th. Book as soon as possible to get your desire week. F.I.T. are at camp from 8:30 until 3:30 each day. Extended hours (8:00am-5:00pm) are available for an additional $20 per day.
