What You Get
Now that summer has arrived, all the bowling balls have come out of hibernation from the alley to make their homes on greener pastures. Take up rolling in a sunny situation with today's WagJag: for $39 for a three-month membership to the Richmond Hill Lawn Bowling Club (a $110 value).
Enjoyable for all ages and skill levels, lawn bowling is a low-impact game that can be played socially or competitively. Contrary to popular belief (or WagJag's belief) it's not just like bowling but on grass. This pinless game involves getting as many of your bowls - or team's bowls - closest to a white ball that serves as a target, making it similar to curling, shuffleboard or bocce ball. With your three-month membership you can play in club events that occur on weeknights or weekends. Take a look at the event schedule to see what's on. Please call ahead to register your membership, well before September 14 - the day the lawn bowling balls retire again for the fall.
The Richmond Hill Lawn Bowling Club is located behind the Elgin Barrow Arena, east of Church Street, north of Major Mackenzie Drive and east of Yonge Street. Click here to see a detailed map.
