The first option is a naturopathic assessment and follow up treatment with Dr. Joanne Dawe. Naturopathic medicine takes a whole body approach to wellness, and works not only on symptom alleviation but also addresses the root cause of illness. The initial visit includes going over a detailed history, lifestyle analysis and education on immediate remedies with the doc (1.25 hours). The follow-up appointment may include acupuncture and herbal medicine, clinical nutrition education, homeopathy and supplementation or lifestyle counseling (20-30 minutes). Option two includes an orthopaedic assessment and two follow up treatments with a certified Athletic Therapist at Apple Creek. Athletic therapists are experts in the assessment and rehab of musculoskeletal injuries. Through a detailed assessment, they try to find the root of the injury and resolve it though stretching, strengthening, and prevention strategies. The initial visit includes a detailed history, orthopaedic evaluation, of the injured body part and related systems and education on the indjury. The follow-up treatment may include manual therapies, exercise prescription, or therapeutic modalities to assist in the rehab process.
