It's easy to make your family whine—just leave out your dishes, hide all their gifts or sing Mariah Carey at the top of your lungs at 2am. What isn't easy is making your family wine, which is much more well received. Enjoy the fine taste of wine made by your own hand. The Wine Butler offers a whole line of international wines that includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and varietals harvested from Australia, Chile, France and Italy. The first step to making your wine is selecting your favourite type online while scheduling your appointment—a booking process known as "dropping yeast," which takes only a couple minutes. When you come in for your first visit, you can then mix the ingredients. Over the next six to 10 weeks, The Wine Butler takes care of the intermediate processing steps like racking, stabilizing and filtering your wine. When that's done, they'll let you know when your wine is ready to be bottled.

On the second visit, vintners bottle and package their wine into approximately 28 bottles (22 to 23 L total). The Wine Butler supplies labels, foils and corks, but winemakers can bring their own clean bottles or purchase them from The Wine Butler for a $1 each. The Wine Butler can sterilize your bottles for you, then set you up at one of their three bottling stations. As your bottles get filled, you use the air-powered corker to cork them, shrink-wrap the tops in the colour of your choice and apply your labels. You're also welcome to sample your wine in the tasting lounge before you go home, to sample it again and again.
