Description
If you have a drawer full of food-stained garments, a sink full of dishes and a Gordon-Ramsay-like temper, these are all signs that you've become a slave to your kitchen. Get a homecooked meal outside the house with today's WagJag: $10 for $20 towards dinner at The Happy Traveller Cafe & Bistro.
Started up less than a year ago by avid travellers Andrew and Londa, The Happy Traveller Cafe serves hearty, homey meals in a cozy and welcoming environment. Menu items are inspired from different regions of the world to satisfy various palate-preferences, and brought to the table to the tune of live music from local bands or open mic acts. Many dishes are inspired by family and friends, perhaps reminding you of that yummy recipe your Great Aunt Alice used to make. Starters include cousin Jonah's cheesy artichoke dip ($8.19), sweet potato fries ($5.95), and beetroot flavoured hummus with baked pita ($5.95). Vegetarian and meaty selections are plentiful in the main category: try the Turkish chicken and vegetable kebab ($13.45) the vegan Peruvian ancient grain quinoa bowl ($10.95), Mexican fish tacos ($13.75) or the Wellington beer-infused gourmet hamburger ($11.95). Several menu options are gluten- and dairy-free. Take a look here.
